We’re a resume writing business. That part hasn’t changed.

What has changed is the level of thought now required to make a resume work. With AI tools and DIY options everywhere, most resumes don’t fall short because of grammar or formatting. They fall short because the experience isn’t positioned clearly for the role, the sector, or the next step someone is trying to take.

That’s where our work sits.

More than resume writers

At Rev-Up Your Resume, we write resumes, cover letters, pitches, statements, and selection criteria, but we also help people make decisions about how their background should be presented to the person reading it. What to focus on. What to leave out. And how to frame experience so it makes sense in context, particularly when the next step in your career isn’t obvious.

This matters most when someone is changing direction, stepping up, or moving into areas like the public sector, where expectations are specific, and assumptions are made quickly.

Experience you can rely on

We’ve been supporting jobseekers across Australia for over 15 years, working with people at different stages of their careers and in a wide range of roles and sectors.

Our contact centre teams are based in Canberra and the Gold Coast, and we work with an experienced pool of writers across key cities, including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Hobart. This structure allows us to bring together practical hiring knowledge, sector familiarity, and local context, rather than relying on templates or one-size-fits-all approaches.

All work is handled by experienced professionals who understand how recruitment decisions are actually made.

Where AI fits (and where it doesn’t)

We’re not against AI. Some clients come to us with drafts they’ve already worked on themselves, sometimes with the help of AI tools.

In those cases, the wording’s generally fine, but something still feels off. The issue is usually how the experience is framed, not how it’s written. That part still requires human knowledge and expertise, and that’s what we bring to the process.

How we work

We take the time to understand your background, what you’re aiming for next, and how your experience is likely to be read by recruiters or selection panels.

From there, we write resumes and applications that are intentional, relevant, and grounded in real hiring expectations. Depending on what you need, that might mean full, done-for-you support, or a paid human review of an AI-generated resume before it’s submitted.

We don’t sell templates or quick fixes. Our service is customised and designed for people who want their experience handled thoughtfully.

Who we usually work with

Most of our clients already have experience behind them. They’re not starting from scratch. They come to us when:

√ They’re changing roles, industries, or direction

√ They’re stepping into more senior or specialist positions

√ They’re applying for public sector or regulated roles

√ They’re unsure whether their current resume is helping or holding them back

If you’re looking for free advice or a DIY solution, we’re probably not the right fit.

But if you want experienced, human support with how your career is positioned on paper, we can help.
